As part of a month of concerts celebrating the Vocal Arts, Paulina Swierczek, soprano and Bethany Pietroniro, piano explore the concepts of heavenly and earthly, featuring the music of Messiaen, John Harbison and Joseph Marx.
Paulina Swierczek's concert engagements include appearing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy under Andris Nelsons, Strauss’s Four Songs, op. 27 with The Orchestra Now under Leon Botstein, and as the Queen of the Night with the Little Orchestra Society. A native Polish speaker with much experience with Polish song literature and specifically the songs of Fryderyk Chopin, Paulina is the recipient of a two year fellowship at Tanglewood. She recently appeared as soprano soloist for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra's performances of Messiah.
Bethany Pietroniro has appeared in concert at Alice Tully Hall, and the Morgan Library. Recent collaborative projects include the premiere of composer Julio Friedmann’s Fried Cycle, presented in a virtual recital with mezzo-soprano Hailey McAvoy.
