Downtown Music presents the First Annual Dorothy Jackson Memorial Concert: Our 36th anniversary season concludes with The Legacy of the Spiritual: Music of the African Diaspora.
The 12 professional voices of the Downtown Music Chorale offer works formed by a journey from the African Continent, through the Caribbean, to the United States. Timothy Lewis, Artistic Director of Downtown Music, leads this program which includes commentary placing the music in historical context.
This concert is made possible by a gift from Nicole Jackson and Matt Jackson, in honor of their mother, Dorothy Jackson.
