Longtime collaborators mezzo soprano Hailey McAvoy with pianist Bethany Pietroniro return to Downtown Music at Grace for a special recital. The program will feature selections from Berlioz's Les nuits d'été, Brahms songs, and American songs by Margaret Ruthven Lang, Teresa del Riego, Ernest Charles, and Joseph Baber. Hailey McAvoy is sought after for her performances of repertoire both classic and contemporary. Recent appearances include Ravel’s Shéhérezade with The Orchestra Now at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and with the Baton Rouge Symphony, and an offering of Brahms’s Zwei Gesänge for mezzo-soprano and viola with Byron Schenkman & Friends in Seattle. Bethany Pietroniro has appeared in concert at Alice Tully Hall, the Morgan Library. Recent collaborative projects include the premiere of composer Julio Friedmann’s Fried Cycle, also presented in a virtual recital with mezzo-soprano Hailey McAvoy.
