Named one of the top “20 under 30” organists by The Diapason magazine, Daniel Ficarri is Associate Organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and a published composer of organ, choral, and chamber music. Daniel has made appearances in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall under the batons of Marin Alsop, Itzhak Perlman, David Robertson, James Gaffigan, and Bernard Labadie; and he has performed in many of the country’s great concert halls and houses of worship, including Symphony Hall in Boston and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. A truly exciting musician, Daniel offers a program that includes two of his own virtuosic works: Ceremonial Dialogue which was commissioned by Christ Cathedral (formerly the Chrystal Cathedral) in California to celebrate their newly restored organ, and Visions of the Holy Spirit a mystical 5-movement suite commissioned by the Paulist Fathers and depicting text from the diary of their founder, Father Isaac Hecker.
This concert is made possible, in part, with a gift in memory of Adrianne Reilly.
