A Two-Part Offering
The Hub Miller Experience: George Hubbard (Hub) Miller (1934-1982) excelled as both a cowboy and an electrical engineer in his native Oregon before his accomplishments as a composer, conductor and performer brought him to New York, where he worked with the Joffrey Ballet, Bette Midler and the Broadway production of Hair. A gift for melody, a love of nature, and an understanding of Eastern philosophy anchors much of his output. Hailey McAvoy offers our Downtown Music audience an exclusive look at this profile, which she created with help from the composer's family and her colleagues at the Eastman School of Music.
