Our 30th Anniversary Season
September 2017 - May 2018

You do not need to be a classical music buff to enjoy the simple delight of arriving at this small, landmark church with wonderful acoustics, taking your seat, and allowing the music to wash over you. A true escape from the rigors and unwanted noise of our lives.”

– Joshua Worby,
Executive Director,
Westchester Philharmonic

Our History

About Downtown Music

Downtown Music, an independent, community-based nonprofit, has served White Plains and the many diverse residents of Westchester County for 30 years. We present artists who tour internationally, and who appear in New York City’s premiere venues including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.  With over 4,000 people attending Downtown Music events each year, we pride ourselves on concerts that are of the highest quality, exciting, and welcoming to all.

Downtown Music has been named the Arts Organization of 2017 by ArtsWestchester (The Westchester Arts Council) as part of their prestigious annual Arts Awards program. In 2016, The Editors of Westchester Magazine voted Downtown Music “Best Live Concert Venue” and included it in their Best of Westchester awards.

The value, to the City of White Plains, of vibrant cultural offerings has always been a focus of Downtown Music.  Because a major part of our mission is to “build community in White Plains and beyond,” we endeavor to present music that will:

  1. Pervade the City
  2. Unite people, businesses, government and education
  3. Earn regional and national recognition for White Plains
  4. Attract people from neighboring towns
Through its signature program, the Noonday Getaway Concerts, Downtown Music at Grace thrills audiences with a rich array of concerts performed by many of the New York area’s finest professional musicians.  The concerts, presented in the centrally located, acoustically superb setting of Grace Episcopal Church, are offered from September through May.  Each concert attracts a multicultural, intergenerational audience of between 100 and 140 people. The programs are free, and open to all.

The 2017-2018 season will include a total of 33 Wednesday, Noonday Concerts.  Artists include: the Rebel Ensemble for Baroque Music, four chamber music concerts in partnership with the Westchester Philharmonic, five concerts featuring members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, plus an exciting Jazz program as part of the White Plains JazzFest.

Downtown Music at Grace is a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation.  Your contribution is tax deductible.
